Cool.

The bass line, the song progression, and especially the piano really stood out. It all was very natural, nothing seemed out of place, and it all flowed very smoothly. They should have had people like you back when they were making these games, seriously.

Well,

It's really well made, and your song-making talent is pretty obvious, but it's really overdone throughout most of the song. Again, the effort must have been fathomless, but, with some exclusions, almost each part was much too overcrowded and choppy. Nice try, but tone it down a bit.

I love the piano parts, though, they were fantastic.

Hey, thanks for the honest review :3

Meh

I heard the cool intro and thought, "Wow, this sounds cool," and then you never punctuated on it. It's pretty much just the same thing all the way through. I guess it would work for a menu theme or something, but it's kinda boring.

Thanks for the honesty.

I was bored at work when I made this and I'm kinda limited on what I can do there but I thought it could work for a menu like you said, not really anything more than that though. So rather than trash it I went ahead & uploaded.

Nice, man.

I can definitely sense a crookedness to this, and I can see where Danny Elfman's influences affected most. Awesome song, creepy, crawly, and reminds me of a clock working.

Exceeds Expectations

I gotta admit, I was a bit wary about listening to this song. I don't know why, but I expected this to be bad. It definitely isn't, though. Fantastic work. The synth is fantastic, I love the melody, if you kept the melody going forever I wouldn't mind. Great job, this is going straight to my favorites.

Also, I'm lovin the chord progression. Genius stuff, man.

Cool!

I can feel the drive to... drive, but the instruments are too calm and soft for something like this. You need orchestra hits, hard synths, something sharp but catchy. I love the tune, but you ought to try making the whole thing a bit louder, if you will.

Sweet

Definitely for a menu. Very ambient and creepy. It actually reminds me of Morrowind. I can't explain why. Great job.

Great

As mentioned, the beginning was a bit odd, but it definitely opened into something great. Unfortunately, I played too little of LoZ and too much of SSBM to associate this song with anything other than the level in Super Smash Bros. But that's got nothing to do with this song, which is fantastic. Great job.

Incredible.

Very surreal. The chord progression in the beginning is fantastic, and it has a great suspenseful buildup into a dramatic, satisfying climax. There's absolutely nothing negative I can say about this song that would be the truth, except maybe a bit of repetition at the beginning, but other than that, I've got no qualms. Great job!

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks man. :D

Dance!

Smoke machines, strobe lights, probably LSD... this would totally make any rave. Fantastic, I couldn't ask for anything more in a dance track. Good solid beat, catchy melodies, really smooth mastering, effects are perfect, and the singing is great. I think this is the song that every author on Newgrounds tries to make. Including me, and I'm not ashamed to say it. The only weird part was the audio cut you mentioned in the author comments. It seems a bit overdone. But other than that, everything was perfect.
