So close!

The percussion is very good, and I applaud you for that. The Slayer is an instant turn-off, though. Change it to any kind of other guitar VST and this song would be improved a lot. You've got the melodies down, for sure, it's just that the instrument itself is so bad. It's very frustrating; this could be a fantastic song, all you gotta do is download some good instruments.

Pretty solid

I'm glad you made the tempo so fast, because if it were any slower, it would be boring. At this speed, though, it's just diverse enough to keep me interested without sounding overdone. The only thing is that I kept expecting it to reach some sort of climax, and it never did. It had a few good buildups, but I was always disappointed at the end. This song needs some work, but what you have is a very excellent foundation for something extremely catchy.

Fr34KC responds:

Thanks for this review - but that's kinda exactly my problem... halfway through I went out of ideas that sounded in tune with the rest of the piece so I never got to make a nice climax... but this review kinda motivated me to keep working on it, so thanks =).

Hm.

Things I liked: The percussion was very well arranged, and the quality of the song was impressive.

Things I disliked: There was a lot of repetition in this song, and it got kind of annoying.

Xayro responds:

The percussion is a looped sampled, don't give me too much credit. However, it is sliced and rearranged (like most D'n'B) and all that to fit the song better, and I suppose that's what you meant by well arranged.

The overly repetitive feeling is what happens when you post an instrumental to a song that is built around having vocals. Once the vocals for the track are completed, that feeling of repetitiveness will be gone.

I'm glad you liked the instrumental for the most part though.

Awesome.

Despite having voice cuts from SNL, this is still a serious song. Honestly, I love it. Keep it up, bro!

Nice.

It's very powerful. The 8-bit sounds were well used and the effects are cool. The only beef I have with this one is that it gets slightly obnoxious/repetitive at times. Otherwise, I like it. :D

tcholloventura responds:

Yeah, you're right my friend.
I totaly agree with you.
I have to improve it...
I'll think about it when i try something new.X]

Thank you for the rewiew.^^

Excellent

Musically, this song is glorious. All of the sounds (including the vocoder carrier) are awesome. The only problem is that "or where to go" is somewhat badly timed and it's bugging me. Other than that, this song is perfect as far as I can tell.

MashedByMachines responds:

The song is made in a rather odd tempo, so some parts may seem badly timed, when they are infact not. But I agree, it sounds kinda off (But I know for sure it isnt)

Thank you for this review :D

Pretty legit

The only problem that Kevin Bacon found was that some of the sounds were a bit abrasive. Kevin Bacon's ears can only handle so many sounds at once as well. The voice samples were nice, though, and Kevin Bacon liked the percussion and the 8-bit samples. The song was catchy, definitely. In fact, Kevin Bacon really liked it.

Again, amazing.

I heard your rendition of the ocean theme first, and this is definitely one of the catchiest tunes in any video game I've ever played. I swear, if I listened to this any more, I'd be forced to go and play it for hours and hours just for the music. Fantastic. Well made, too, which is definitely a plus.

Amazing.

I love that tune to death. I could listen to it forever. Not only is it beautiful and catchy, but it's so nostalgic it hurts. That was the first video game I ever beat, and I hummed to this song for probably over 100 hours. Hearing it in 8-bit is refreshing, yet familiar. Great job, by the way. Even though it's not jump-out-in-your-face-bass or laden with heavy beats, it still hits the spot just right. I can also tell it took forever, so kudos.

It was alright.

The song was catchy, and the sounds were excellent. However, being a long-time fan of yours, didn't sense the same spark that you usually display in your songs. I suppose you can't always post a perfect song, but I still felt a little let down by this one. I'm sorry that I don't have anything to suggest to you.
