Catchy.

I think it's pretty impressive that this song can be so varied while still strictly following the same chord progressions. It makes my foot tap and it reminds me of machinery. Keep it up, man! :D

Kherr responds:

I originally started with just that calming intro sound (the pads) before the drums came in. I heard that soundloop in my inventory and wondered where I could go with it... So I decided to use it... and I just kept rolling with it. I hadn't even realized that 4 hours had gone by when I hit mixdown to mp3 and I noticed the clock when I hit submit here on newgrounds. :D

You, my good sir, I appreciate the truthful review, because I've only seen good things from this track thus far... It was holding a 4/5 but a troll must have come along because now it's 3/5... *sad panda*

Thanks for the choice score and review! :D

Fine.

The song is decent. The composing, on one hand, is fantastic. The piano was simply amazing. It was something new constantly, and it was catchy. The synths at around 2:00 are beautiful as well. The only problems I could pick out were the percussion and some of the instruments. FL Slayer is a no-no at all times. Avoid it. The drums were the same loop throughout the entire song. Maybe mix it up a little bit? Make build-ups and maybe a quieter set. Something other than the one loop. Fix those things up and this song will be infinitely better.

mauiboynokaoi responds:

I was thinking of adding a secondary/tertiary drum beat but I never got to it. I may add some more drum beats in the gamma but ATM it's still in beta. Also I'm not too good with quiet songs anything short than a live performance from a piano :P

The Missing Part:

Everyone seems to agree that something is amiss in this song. I think I can help you there. All of the tunes and beats are fantastic, but the song seems two-dimensional. Try a couple different VSTi's, or perhaps fiddle with the volumes. Hypothetically, the song is excellent. Realistically, it needs some work.

ganon95 responds:

thanks but i can't change it

Eh, It's Okay

It's pretty boring. The melodies and beats are cool, but there's almost no variation throughout the song. The same instruments are used throughout, and even the same tunes are repeated over and over at some points. I mean, towards the end, it gets better, but the intro and immediately afterwards kinds threw me off.

T-Free responds:

Thanks for the constructive criticism, JohnLeprechaun! You are right about the track, I might create a new version very soon with new plugins, more instruments and variation. :]

Meh

I appreciate the time and skill behind this, but it's certainly not my cup of tea. A bit repetitive at times, but the transitions are smooth and natural. It's just too vague for my tastes, which favor distinct melodies. It would be unfair to hold that against you, however, so I'll rate the song based on the obvious effort.

lidlurch responds:

figures, i mean, i made this song a long time ago, and i didn't know much about music for back then. i just wanted to master this song, and it just didn't seem like it would be right to put any more parts to it. thanks for the review though!

Beautiful.

I enjoyed this immensely. Classical piano pieces are really starting to grow on me lately, and this is definitely helping. Oh my goodness. The ending is just fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing this. I love it. As for your personal troubles, I certainly hope it works out okay for both of you, whatever that may entail.

ObsidianSnow responds:

Thanks a lot for the review, JohnLeprechaun. I appreciate it.

Hm...

Definitely catchy. The instruments were well chosen, the tunes aren't bad, but there are some arrangement issues. Sometimes things didn't line up with each other, and it kind of made me twitch. Also, The synths and the drums don't seem to be on the same level. They sound totally separate and unnatural. Other than that, very catchy song. I liked some of the catchy percussion tricks you threw in here and there.

lidlurch responds:

Yeah it is really choppy. It's been a long time since i revisited this one, but i'm planning on making it a smooth contrast, you know? I figure it's going to be hard to pull off, but once i get it, i think it will be a one of a kind song. I'll be sure to use your advice ;) thanks!

Interesting.

I gotta admit, I usually despise rap. Hate it, loathe it, spit at it. But this song was amazing. It had a great message, and the last line (although it didn't rhyme at all) had a crushing message. Definitely one of the most influential songs I've heard in a while.

BigRed responds:

You're not listening to the right rap! There's a whole world of intelligent-thought-provoking-musical ly-beautiful hip hop out there just waiting for you! I'm glad you liked this one!

Meh

I recognize some riffs from your other songs, and although I can see just how hard this would be to make, there was nothing that really stood out for me. The percussion was great as usual, and the instruments were good. There were even some melodies in there that I liked, but for the most part it was just all of your other songs blended together.

cazok responds:

Thanks anyway.
You want NEW material? Check out my latest song "The Circus Grounds" !
It's an all new song with loads of fresh melodies. It's in my opinion better than this.

Mysterious

Sounds like something that would play in a dungeon level in a game. Pretty well made.

krssvr responds:

i might just make a VG theme with the same melody becasue of this comment i kind of like the idea
